Rogueblox Weapons: Categories, Stats, and Equipment Rules

How weapons work in Rogueblox

Weapons are a character’s primary offensive and defensive equipment. You can equip only one weapon at a time, but you can carry any number of weapons. Weapons cannot be swapped while you are in combat, so choose your equipped weapon before entering a fight.

Weapon statistics describe the weapon’s M1 light attacks. Critical attacks and other attacks generally have similar properties, but can differ—for example, a critical attack may be larger or stronger than an M1 while being slower.

Weapon categories and abilities

Weapon categories are based primarily on the abilities a weapon can use. Most weapon abilities are restricted to a specific weapon type. For example, Vital Slashes can only be used by Swords.

Weapons in the same category also tend to have similar stat spreads:

CategoryTypical properties
Fists and DaggersShort and fast
SwordsBalanced
Spears and GreatswordsLong and slow

These are general category tendencies rather than replacements for a weapon’s individual statistics.

Hybrid weapons

Some weapons can use abilities from more than one weapon type. These weapons are placed in both their primary category and a separate Hybrid category.

For example, Wroughtsilver can use both Sword and Dagger abilities. Its category classification therefore reflects both the weapon type it most closely matches by name or statistics and its hybrid functionality.

Rapiers

Rapiers are counted in-game as Daggers. This is a community-supported categorization and matters when determining which weapon abilities can be used with them.

Weapon acquisition and requirement tags

Weapons can be bought, crafted, or dropped. The following tags indicate how a weapon is obtained or who can equip it:

TagMeaning
[D]The weapon must be found by chance from an NPC, World Boss, Dungeon, or Chest.
[S]The weapon requires the specified Super Class to equip.
[U]The weapon requires the specified Ultra Class to equip.

Weapons without a tag should be considered obtainable through crafting, town purchases, or mementos. Untagged weapons can be equipped by anyone.

Choosing a weapon

When comparing Rogueblox weapons, check these points:

  1. Ability access: Confirm which weapon category or categories the weapon supports.
  2. Attack behavior: Compare its M1 damage and speed, remembering that the listed statistics refer to light attacks.
  3. Category tendencies: Use the category’s usual range and speed as a general expectation, not as a substitute for the weapon’s individual stats.
  4. Class tags: Check for [S] or [U] before planning a weapon around a Super Class or Ultra Class.
  5. Availability: A [D] weapon requires a chance-based source, while untagged weapons may come from crafting, towns, or mementos.
  6. Combat preparation: Because weapons cannot be swapped during combat, equip the weapon that matches your intended abilities before fighting.
