Scorching effect
Scorching is a weapon enchantment associated with the Ruby gem. Its attacks can inflict Burning for 5 seconds.

The M1 application is chance-based, so regular hits do not always apply Burning. Critical hits are the dependable way to trigger the effect.
Jinxed Scorching
The jinxed form increases burn damage, but introduces a risk when the effect activates: it may set the wielder on fire instead of the enemy.
This makes jinxed Scorching a higher-risk version of the enchantment. Its stronger burn damage comes with the possibility that an activation harms the user rather than the target.
Weapon use
Scorching applies to a weapon. Characters can equip only one weapon at a time, although they may carry multiple weapons. Weapon swapping is unavailable during combat, so choose the weapon carrying Scorching before entering a fight.
